Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of cheaper quartz movements for many wristwatches, Cartier contracted with watch manufacturers to produce mechanical movements designed to last a lifetime.

It is fully Cartier down to the dial, hands and crown. It is in gorgeous condition - a 9.6 out of 10. The gold plating on the case may have been redone. Its original dial is mint. On the wrist it presents as mint.
